S’mores Sandwich Instructions
Spread melted chocolate on two graham crackers and sandwich two Dandies between them (the chocolate will act as a glue). Make about 8 Sandwiches. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and put in the freezer to cool and harden.
In a saucepan over low heat, combine non dairy milk, salt, sugar and vegan margarine, stirring until butter is melted and mixed well with the other ingredients. Be careful to not to let this boil (it should be warm, not scalding). Pour this mixture in a bowl and sprinkle on yeast and let sit for about 10 minutes and until it starts foaming. Mix in flour and knead until sticky dough has formed. Cover and let sit in a warm spot for 30 minutes to let rise. Once dough has risen, start heating oil in a pot to about 375 degrees. Remove s’more sandwiches from freezer and wrap a thin layer of dough around each one. Working in batches, fry s’mores for about 2 minutes on each side, until nice and golden. Remove from oil and place on a plate with paper towel to soak up excess oil. Sprinkle on powdered sugar and enjoy! Like most fried foods, these are best enjoyed fresh (and on a stick)!
